HISTORY COMES ALIVE!
with John MacNaughton
(aired 2000 on WXXI)
by Bill Flynn- Producer, Announcer
[format: Taped/1 hour]
John MacNaughton taught the subject of history for
nearly 40 years at various colleges in western New
York, spellbinding his students with a unique
storytelling style. Bill Flynn visits John at his
home in Caledonia, NY- a homestead that his family
settled in 1826- and where MacNaughton claims a
rare boast: sleeping in the same bed he was
born. Browsing MacNaughton's massive book
collection (which numbers into the
thousands) plus a sampling of John's radio
appearances makes for a terrific review
of John's career as an educator and
memorable world history events.
